The original Toehold Ranch was once a larger ranch and part of the headquarters of the Y4 Ranch in Kirkland, Arizona. Through the years and after several ownership changes, the ranch and surrounding areas were parceled down and renamed.
In 2019, Skyler Hadden purchased approximately 160 acres of land that was then being called the Y4 Ranch. He decided to bring back the Toehold name to pay homage to the land's history and as a symbol of his entry into the ranching life.
Toehold Ranch, located in the high desert of central Arizona, sits at an elevation of 3800 feet. The ranch is comprised of native land and approximately 100 acres of irrigated pasture. In 2024, extensive work began to modernize the 60-year-old irrigation system and more efficiently utilize the land's resources.
Skyler continues to look for ways to integrate enhanced ecological practices with responsible livestock management, striving to achieve a balance between environmental sustainability and premium beef production.
